What is so special about growing microgreens and sprouts at home? Part I

Hello guys, how are you?

I hope you all are doing well and ready to hear what is so special about sprouting and growing microgreens at home. If you still wondering why you should start this amazing activity, after reading this you will surely start.

So here are the main reasons to begin:

To begin with, one of the best thing is nutrition.

Sprouts and microgreens are plants at their prime. At this stage of the growth, they have a greater concentration of proteins, vitamins and minerals, enzymes, bioflavonoids, T-cells and much more, than at any other point in the plant’s life. Even when compared with mature vegetables.

Also, it is organic.

Just choose organic seeds and you won’t need to worry about chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, and fumigants anymore. You will be an organic farmer at your own home.

Is anybody here who has too much time? Probably nobody does. That’s why it is so awesome to grow your food at home. Imagine you have a garden outside your town. How much time does it take to go there? Half an hour one way? Or maybe even more? What if you need to go there in rush hours? Ok, stop counting hours and relax. When you start growing at home, the time you save from traveling is more than enough to take care of all your plants.

And if this time saving is not enough, I have good news for you. Sprouts and microgreens grow super fast!

For sprouts it takes from 1 to 7 days, for microgreens from 1 to 3 weeks while mature vegetables need 2 – 3 months to grow.

Because of this rapid growth, you will be able to enjoy a huge variety of greens. You will find your favourite ones and your salads will never be boring again. And it is also a key to getting the most nutrient value out of your food. Each vegetable contains different nutrients in different amounts. By eating a diverse selection of foods, you can get all the nutrients you need.

What I really like is freshness. Every time you want to add some greens to your food or to make salads you can get the freshest product it can be. You cut your microgreens just before you eat them so they taste great and there is no loss of nutrients sitting in crates or grocery store shelves.

Also sprouts and microgreens are gorgeous! Every day more and more kitchen chefs start to use this superfood to decorate the dishes they made. It is not a secret that if the food looks good it usually tastes good.

That’s it for now. Stay tuned for part II, and other articles full of useful information!
