China Rose radish microgreens

Hey! Are you, like me, can not wait for spring to grow some rich flavored radish? Well, now you can garnish your salads with that spicy delicious flavor all year round.

Step 1: Choosing seeds (Day 1)

Choose organic raw China rose radish seeds.

 

Step 2: Soaking (Day1)

You don’t have to soak the seeds, but it may speed up the germination process. That’s exactly what we did this time.  Because the seeds are small, leave them soaked just for a couple of hours. That should do the trick.

Step 3: Planting and covering (Day 1)

First of all – choose any tray you want: plastic, clay or wooden. For China rose radish microgreens growing we will use soil. The ground layer in a tray should be about 3-4 centimeters. Sprinkle the soil.

Scatter radish seeds thickly over the moist soil. Seeds should beautifully cover the ground, but not be one on top of another. Water them again with sprayer. Watering is needed every day. The earth should be neither dry nor too wet.

Cover the tray with another tray or using a simple plastic wrap from your kitchen and make many small holes in it or use the special lid for microgreens growing until the seeds are sprouted. China rose radish germinate best in a dark.

Step 4: Checking humidity level and progress (day 2-3)

Check the moisture level daily. And watch them grow!

After 3-4 days, when radish starts to grow, take off the lid and move the tray onto a sunny window sill or a LED shelf.

Step 5: Growing and watering (Day 4-6)

If you are using our LED shelf, do not forget that plants also need to sleep. Keep the lights on for 14-16 hours a day or just turn it off when you go to bed and turn on in the morning. Do not forget to water your plants. Best in the morning. Young sprouts should be sprayed and older plants should be sprayed and sprinkled.

Step 6: Harvesting and eating (Day 7)

On the 7th to 12th day of cultivation, fresh China rose radish microgreens can already be enjoyed. We suggest you taste them every day and decide when the taste is the best for you. It is recommended to use kitchen scissors for cutting. Cut over the ground. You can cut them as much as you need for one day or cut them all and keep in the refrigerator like any other salad in a plastic bag or container.
